Leaving the Visitors' Centre behind you, turn right after 200 m on to the bridleway towards Gaztélugagna. Walk downwards until you reach the tarmac road. Keep the Etchébarnia farm to your left and walk along the road for 200 m then turn off to the right following the GR 10 markings skirting the Arpidia ravine. Leave the GR 10 after 1 km that rises to the left. Keep walking along the ravine bed and follow the yellow signage for the path that leads to the Dominique Prebende cabin.

To return, you can take a narrow path on the left bank and on a lower level join the La Verna Grotto access road. Walk down this road for about 1 km then leave it turning right onto a path that leads to a hairpin bend in the forest road. Continue for another 200 m, then turn left towards the next farm. Turn right at the farm, cross the Grotto access road and join the GR 10. Stay on the GR 10 to return to the church and the Visitors' Centre along the paved road.
